BCA's Pays de Loire ADDRESS:Route de Craon, 49500 L'HOTELLERIE-DE-FLEE, France.
Long considered France's best stockholder of antique reclaimed materials and architectural salvage for authentic and creative projects across France, Europe and worldwide, BCA Matériaux Anciens is now France's biggest. Stocks include antique reclaimed French limestone, terra cotta and wood flooring, beams and other timbers in oak and pine, exterior paving and setts, roof tiles and bricks, stone for walling, fireplaces, statues, garden and water features.
BCA's two bases in Normandy and the Loire Brittany border in North West France feature extensive interior and exterior showroom areas and stockyards with smart office and meeting rooms where projects can be discussed. BCA is not in the 'wellies-in-muddy-field' category of architectural salvage. Established in 1996, BCA developed from its French demolition industry origins to become the foremost in French antique materials and architectural salvage, often a 'behind-the-scenes' supplier to higher profile international businesses.
BCA's subsidiary, Surface Nature, produces and markets new wood and stone flooring which maintains a clear distinction between BCA's antique, reclaimed and upcycled stocks.
BCA has a long and ongoing association with the Anglo-French interior architect designer David Ackers, co-author of the influential best-selling book How to Renovate a House in France, member of the British Institute of Interior Designers BIID and France's Union Nationale des Architecte d'Intérieur Designers UNAID, a specialist in the use of appropriate building materials with many international projects undertaken since graduation in the 1980s. David is often the first contact that BCA's anglophone clients will have by email or phone, and every effort is made to assist international architects, designers and private clients to specify appropriate materials for their projects. Access is permitted to photo galleries of stock images and French historic floors and paving for reference on condition they are not used on other websites.
Bruno Cottier, president of BCA Matériaux, and David Ackers realised the potential of an effective stock website early on, France's first, with the support of Thornton Kay at Salvo Llp. For nearly twenty years BCA has subscribed to the Salvo Code for good practice in stock purchasing.
